Which cookies we use, what they do, and how to control them.
1. What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file that a website stores on your device when you visit. Cookies allow the website to remember your actions and preferences, recognise you on return visits, and operate basic functionality like keeping you logged in. They cannot read other files on your device or run programs.
2. Our approach
Ariyor takes a minimalist approach to tracking. We use cookies and similar storage technologies only where strictly necessary to operate the website and remember your stated preferences. We do not use:
- Marketing or advertising cookies
- Third-party tracking pixels (no Facebook Pixel, no Google Analytics, no LinkedIn Insight)
- Cross-site behavioural-profiling tools
- Any technology that shares your data with marketing platforms
This is a deliberate choice. As a custodian of private wealth, we believe the privacy of our visitors and members is non-negotiable.
3. Cookies and storage we use
Strictly necessary (always active)
These cannot be disabled because the website would not function without them.
- ariyor_cookie_consent
- Records whether you have accepted or dismissed the cookie banner. Stored in localStorage. Persists indefinitely until you clear your browser data.
- ariyor_session
- Maintains your authenticated session when signed in to My Ariyor. Cleared when you close your browser unless you select "remember this device".
- ariyor_csrf
- Protects against cross-site request forgery during transactions. Cleared at the end of each session.
Functional (active with consent)
These remember your preferences across visits. They activate only when you click "Accept" on the cookie banner.
- ariyor_locale
- Your preferred display language. Persists for 12 months.
- ariyor_currency
- Your preferred display currency for portfolio valuations. Persists for 12 months.
- ariyor_dashboard_layout
- Customisation choices on your member dashboard (e.g. chart range preference). Persists for 12 months.
4. How to control cookies
4.1 At first visit
When you first visit, a banner at the bottom of the page lets you choose:
- Essential only: Only strictly necessary cookies are stored.
- Accept: Strictly necessary cookies plus the functional cookies listed above.
4.2 Changing your mind
To revisit your choice or clear stored data:
- Open your browser's developer tools and clear localStorage for ariyorlux.com.
- Or use your browser's settings: Chrome (Settings → Privacy → Site settings), Firefox (Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies), Safari (Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data).
- Once cleared, the banner will reappear on your next visit.
4.3 Browser-level controls
You can configure your browser to reject all cookies, accept only first-party cookies, or notify you each time a cookie is set. Note that strictly necessary cookies are required for the website to function — disabling them will prevent you from signing in or completing transactions.
5. Third-party services
The website loads two third-party resources:
- Google Fonts: Web fonts served by fonts.googleapis.com. No cookies are set; only your IP address is exposed to Google to deliver the font files.
We do not embed any third-party social-media buttons that load tracking code. Our Facebook button is a simple link that takes you to facebook.com only when clicked.
6. Changes to this policy
If we change which cookies or storage technologies we use, we will update this page and reset the cookie banner so you are prompted to review your choice. Material changes will be notified to members by email.
